In the 20th round of the Romanian First League championship, the last but one of this year, FCSB, former Steaua București, meets Rapid also from Bucharest. The match brings face to face two of the most popular football teams in Romania. Originally, Rapid was the railway workers' club in Bucharest, founded in 1923, and Steaua belonged to the Army and was created in 1947, under the name of the Army Sports Association, or ASA. Throughout history, Rapid has also been called CFR, from Căile Ferate Române- the Romanian Railways and Locomotiva București. The military group was renamed the Army Central Sports Club in 1948, and then, in 1950, the Army Central House. It was named Steaua București in 1961. Since 2017 it has been called FCSB.
