Covid-19.
In the last 24 hours, almost 3,750 new
cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered in Romania,
most of them in Bucharest, the Ministry of Health has announced. 44 related deaths
were also reported, of which 8 were prior to the reference period. The number
of hospitalized Covid-19 patients is 3,120, and 465 are in Intensive Care. As
of March 9, in Romania, there are no Covid restrictions and no mandatory rules
to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Cases have been reported in other
European countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Austria,
after restrictions were lifted, but this has not lead to an increase in the
number of serious cases or deaths associated with COVID. The WHO has expressed

CORONAVIRUS – A little over 6 thousand new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours in Romania and 26 related deaths. Around 400 patients are in intensive care. Face masks are again mandatory both indoors and outdoors as of today. Also starting today, the state of alert has been extended by another 30 days and the use of textile and plastic masks is no longer permitted due to their very low efficiency. Only surgical and FFP2 masks are allowed. 5-day quarantine is required for vaccinated people or people who had the disease in the last 180 days as well as a 10-day quarantine period for all other persons. The same rules apply to direct contacts of people who test positive to the virus. Unvaccinated persons who have not had the disease in the past six months will be quarantined for 10 days if they come EU countries in the red zone and from non-European areas. MOURNING A day of mourning was observed on
Friday in memory of the people killed 32 years ago in Timişoara, the city that
sparked the Romanian anti-communist revolution. Commemoration events included
religious services, laying of flowers and special exhibitions. ON 17th
December 1989 army and security forces opened fire against the people
protesting against Romania s communist regime in the city of Timişoara in the
west of the country. More than 60 people were killed that evening, and several
hundreds were wounded. 17th December is considered the darkest day
in Timişoara s contemporary history.







SUMMIT EU leaders who met for the winter summit in Brussels called for a boost
