Badger Hockey Men Draw ND, Women Top Bemidji State

By Mike Leischner Wisconsin Badgers MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Badger men’s hockey team skated to a 5-5 draw with Notre Dame. The Badger men trailed 1-0 early before Ty Pelton-Byce closed out the first period with a power play goal to send the teams to the first intermission deadlocked at 1. Cole Caufield and Roman Ahcan each found the back of the net in the second, and Wisconsin led 3-1 after two. Both teams would then combine for six goals in the final 20 minutes including two tallies from Linus Weissbach and Pelton-Byce to help the Badgers keep pace. Pelton-Byce’s goal came with less than 30 seconds remaining to force an overtime period.

Badgers complete sweep of Minnesota

By Jim Scott Feb 7, 2021 9:30 AM (UW ATHLETICS COMMUNICATIONS) – The Wisconsin men’s hockey team (13-7-0, 11-5-0 0-1-0 Big Ten) swept into first place in the Big Ten by skating to an 8-1 victory over the second-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-5-0, 11-5-0-0-0-0 Big Ten) in the team’s final regular-season matchup of the season. Wisconsin’s depth and skill were on full display tonight with six different Badgers notching goals. The Badgers went on the man advantage just four minutes into the game and quickly get control of the puck in the offensive zone. Dylan Holloway passed across to Cole Caufield who fired a shot at the net. Roman Ahcan tipped the puck past Jack LaFontaine for an early 1-0 lead.
