MANILA, Philippines – HE Ramon R Jimenez Jr, the Secretary of Tourism of the Philippines passed on his sincere thanks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) members who extended help in the six months since Typhoon Yolanda “hit hard” 44 of the country’s 81 provinces.

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines is urging Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member countries to collaborate in minimizing the impact of taxation on tourism businesses and tourists to ensure the competitiveness of the industry in the region.
Member countries should employ a “whole government approach” to ensure the continued growth and competitiveness of tourism in the region, Department of Tourism (DOT) assistant secretary Rolando Canizal said during the APEC-Tourism Working Group (TWG) conference held last week in Boracay, Aklan. ....
