Chennai: Rash Driver Rams BMW Car Into Cops, Kills Them On Spot Jan 21, 2021, 11:55 IST Chennai: Two policemen, a couple, and a woman from Chennai were found dead in the early hours of Tuesday morning due to an accident caused by speeding vehicles. Karthik (34) from Tiruppur and Rabindran (32) from Ramanathapuram were serving as policemen in the Armed Forces. The two recently completed their training and joined the Chennai city division. They were on security duty at the Coimbatore bus terminal. Rabindranath stayed in Avadi and Karthik in Annanur. The two left for Coimbatore on a single motorcycle on Tuesday morning. In the middle of the road, a speeding BMW car collided with a bike at West Mogaper. Rabindranath died on the spot in the incident. Karthik succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

A 25-year-old youth who drove the BMW car was arrested. The police said the accident occurred around 4.15 a.m. when the constables were riding a two-wheeler from their residence to report for duty at Koyambedu. The names of the dead were given as B. Ravindran, 32, and V. Karthik, 34. Both were attached to the 13th Battalion and were recently deputed to the Armed Reserve unit of the city police. Ravindran was staying at TNHB Flats in Avadi while Karthik lived in Annanur.
