Cheboygan Daily Tribune INVERNESS TOWNSHIP To help Inverness Township come closer to breaking even with the operations of its transfer station, the township board members voted to increase the cost of tickets to $2 per bag of garbage. Inverness Township Clerk Laurie Merchant said the supply of the transfer station tickets were starting to get low, so she was looking at reordering more. However, she also needed to know at that time if they were going to increase the cost of using the facility, or not, to include that on the tickets. It looks like annually we are going through about between 1,000 and 1,200 a year, said Merchant. I m not really sure if you just want me to go ahead and reorder them, or if you want to look at increasing of the price. ....
Cheboygan Daily Tribune INVERNESS TOWNSHIP At the request of a potential developer in the area, as well as The Brook, Inverness Township is discussing potentially having a speed study done on Townline Road between Weld-Tech and Stempky Street. Inverness Township Trustee Greg Elliott said this was started from the developer he is working to bring the Cheboygan Estates housing development to the old Stempky Farm property on Western Avenue. The city wanted after approving the site plan for that they were asking that maybe we d look at seeing about doing a speed study as you re coming in, from about Weld-Tech to Stempky Street, said Elliott. And then also, Kim Pappas from The Brook, she was asking also about the speeds, for basically the senior citizens coming out of The Brook all of the time. ....
