Eminent aerospace scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Roddam Narasimha died at a private hospital here on Monday, doctors said. He was 87. He was admitted to the hospital on December 8 after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.
The scientist, who served at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), breathed his last at 8.30 pm, neurologist Dr Sunil V Furtado said. ....

A renowned aerospace scientist and Padma Vibhushan recipient, Roddam Narasimha, passed away yesterday at a private hospital in Bangalore. The scientist, who was 87 years old, suffered a brain haemorrhage on December 8.
Among the many honours bestowed upon for his contributions to the field of science, Roddam Narasimha was awarded the highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan, in 2013. After the news of his death, several political figures have poured out respects for him and have lauded his contributions as a fluid dynamicist.
President Ram Nath Kovind referred to his demise as “a huge loss to the field of science and technology” and said the scientist was “an authority in fluid dynamics”. ....

Bengaluru, Dec 15: Eminent aerospace scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Roddam Narasimha died at a private hospital in Bengaluru on December 14, doctors said. He was 87.
He was admitted to the hospital on December 8 after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.
The scientist, who served at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), breathed his last at 8.30 p.m., neurologist Dr. Sunil V. Furtado said.
“When he was brought to our hospital, he was in a very critical stage. There was bleeding inside his brain,” Dr. Furtado, neurosurgeon and senior consultant at the Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in the city, told media. ....

Roddam Narasimha passed away on Monday.
He is survived by his wife and daughter. Narasimha, 87, breathed his last at
MS Ramaiah hospital where he was admitted on December 6. The hospital authorities said that his death was not related to covid-19. He has been unwell for a while.
Born in 1933, Narasimha was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2013 for his contribution to science and engineering.
Narasimha was an alumnus of Mysore University and
the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). At IISc, Narasimha was with the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Chairman of the department between 1983-1984 and then moved on to take over the directorship of NAL. ....
