This past year, Summit County Rescue Group volunteers responded to avalanches, lost skiers, hikers sinking so deep into the snow that they lost their shoes, trailside ankle injuries and off-road drivers who got their vehicles.
On a cold, snowy night in December 1972, a few dozen Summit County residents gathered at Swan’s Nest, the historic home of Ben Stanley Revett, the Gold Dredge King, at Tiger Run north of Breckenridge..
Après-Ski, a local organization that helps people plan their visits to Breckenridge, recently donated $20,000 to Building Hope Summit County. Most of the money came from the organization’s Breckoween event and its Karma Keg Tap.
