With the 2022 midterms just 279 days away, it's not too early to see which Congressional candidates are raking it in and which ones have some work to do. Crain's contributor Ted Cox does the math.
A Democratic candidate has announced his candidacy for the 17th U.S. Congressional seat in 2022, Rockford Alderman Jonathan Logemann. Logemann is also a high school business and economics teacher, a member of the Illinois Army National Guard, and served in Afghanistan. In Logemann's campaign announcement he says Congress needs less "career politicians" and more people who "understand the struggle firsthand." He specifically points to issues like expanding affordable health care, investing in education, taking care of veterans. Logemann also talks about the need to protect "American democracy" and "freedom" with a renewed focus on solving problems and less "finger-pointing and bickering." While the primary elections won't be until 2022, Esther Joy-King is the Republican with the most money and seems to be supported by the GOP establishment.
