Officials say LVHN now offers a variety of surgical procedures using the Da Vinci 5 surgical system at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown.
The U.S. FDA granted Virtual Incision Corp. de novo marketing authorization for its miniaturized in vivo robotic assistant for use in colectomy procedures in adults. The two-pound device offers portability and quick setup, eliminating the need for specialized operating rooms or arrangements to accommodate robotics.
Butterfly Network announced a product co-development deal with surgical robotics startup Mendaera, in which the startup will build custom robotics around Butterfly’s ultrasound-on-a-chip technology to create a new system designed for better surgical precision and consistency. Both partners expect to complete the product’s FDA submission by 2025.
