The Alamo Cenotaph and Alamo Street, shown in a June photograph, were topics of discussion and action Wednesday night by the Alamo Citizen Advisory Committee. The panel supported keeping the Cenotaph in place and initiating a repair plan, and endorsed closing a section of the street, between Houston and Crockett streets, that is in the historic mission-fort footprint.William Luther /Staff

Officials with two major COVID-19 vaccine providers in San Antonio say they aren’t convinced the city needs a one-stop sign-up portal for people trying to schedule vaccinations.
San Antonio is the only major Texas city without some form of a vaccine registry. Other major cities including Austin, Houston and Dallas have systems that allow residents to sign up and be notified later when an appointment becomes available. ....

In a city lacking stable housing for the homeless, February s record cold exposed the vulnerability and shortage of options for those living in a tent camp under Interstate 37.
March 12, 2020

Still huddled in her sleeping bag, she poured frigid water onto the cloth to wipe her face. Outside, the air was thick with smoke from a campfire a friend had built with scrap wood. Tears from the smoke pooled in their eyes. ....
