Fire razes 40 houses in Muntinlupa

A fire gutted 40 houses in Bgy. Cupang, Muntinlupa early morning Saturday, Feb. 27, that left about 200 people homeless.

According to Supt. Roberto Samillano Jr. of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Muntinlupa, the fire started at about 2:01 a.m. from the first floor of the house of Carmen Tanao in a residential area in Garcip Compound, Cupang.
It reached the second alarm at 2:23 a.m. before it was put out by firefighters at 4:44 a.m. The estimated damage to property was placed at P400,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation. ....
