i am thrilled tonight to have jim here because this is a great talk. i read it and finished it last night and thought oh my god why did i not read this book earlier? my mother was from georgia and she was a third-generation graduate. she graduated in 1950. after leaving she went to sweet breyer college and a sweet breyer she had a friend of hers exchange student from saint interschool. one day she said ann aren t you from america? can you tell me about quanah nail? my mother said i had never heard of him. she had learned about him from scotland so when she came home she was a little bit upset and she asked my grandfather to take her there. my grandfather was a republican type and his first cousins quoted his book is one of the leaders of our family. that person that banker who later tried to ask them to leave said that and sheffield sure was a quick thinking girl and she went to sleep our college in virginia but she came home and income so good for sweet breyer college and go

Martha “Marty” McLaren, a past West Seattle/South Park representative on the
Seattle Public Schools Board of Directors, has died. Ms. McLaren, a Puget Ridge resident, was 76 years old. She was a longtime educator and community advocate, but her highest-profile role was that of board member. She won election in 2011 by unseating incumbent
Steve Sundquist and then four years later was unseated herself by current board member
Leslie Harris. We talked with Ms. McLaren after her election in 2011; she spoke of her teaching career following her involvement with advocacy as a PTA leader while her children were in school. More details on her life are in her obituary, which we’ve just received:
