Is the town of Eagle ready for a campground?

Scott Colby, of Eagle, thinks 10 acres of his 13.5-acre property on Brush Creek Road would make a great campground for people who come to town for events or outdoor recreation. Avon seeks to legitimize use of off-highway vehicles on public roads

Rocky Mountain Sport Riders/Special to the Daily The town of Avon took its first steps to addressing the issue of off-highway vehicle use in Wildridge. The town will be drafting an ordinance that will allow off-highway vehicles to drive on Avon town streets, particularly in the Wildridge community. Avon does not yet have a date that it will put the ordinance before residents. The exact language and scope of the ordinance has yet to be determined, but the Town Council is eager to begin legitimizing something that has been a gray area for many years. The ordinance will address the ability of residents and visitors to use public roads to access Forest Service Road 779 and 771.1b through Wildridge. This will not address motorized vehicle use on the Forest Service Roads themselves. The designation of off-highway vehicles includes motorized vehicles such as off-road dirt bikes, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and RZR side-by-sides.
