Thursday night at 10 00 p. M. Those secure areas will mean once the papal events begin, only those who go through security clearance areas can get beyond that red zone. City Officials Say starting thursday, september 24th, security sweeps will take place on the parkway and wont open to walkers until 6 00 a. M. On friday. Those pedestrians will need to be screened. On friday, emergency routes will also shut down to make way for those emergency vehicles and by friday, secure areas will be in place in old city and around independence hall. Vehicle traffic wont be able to move within that green zone, a three plus mile area of the city. There will be seven medallion taxi cabs that are compliant with ada at the moment. They will operate in the traffic box for ada scheduled trips. Reporter food deliveries will be limited but the mayor says some deliveries will be allowed inside the zones in the overnight hours.
