The City Council voted unanimously Monday to create the Gunn Block as a single-building historic district, hoping it will enhance preservation and reuse efforts. McCarroll, chairman of the Community Preservation Committee, praised the vote Tuesday and said there are numerous single-building historic districts across Massachusetts among the larger districts, as permitted by state law. ....
