Sponsored BASF and Givaudan have reportedly tested and validated the world’s first toxicology testing strategy conducted without animal testing; the strategy, consisting of three alternative methods, has since been approved by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development). These methods can be used to predict whether a substance causes allergic reactions in the skin, no longer needing to use animal testing to observe these effects.
