rural intersection of billingsley and middleton roads in white plains, a murder/suicide involving next-door neighbors. the suspect pulled up alongside him at an intersection. the suspect got out of his vehicle, approached the victim and fired multiple shots into the victim s car. reporter: investigators say 24-year-old charles county school teacher christopher hoffort was shot dead. immediately after the shooting, the suspect turned the gun on himself. that suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. reporter: he was a teacher at north point high school for science, technology and industry. he also coached track and the school s robotics team. this is a 24-year-old young man, second-year teacher in our school system who, you know, came to us from buffalo and started a new life, and started a career, and in two short years made a big impact upon our school community, so it s devastating. reporter: court records show chris hofford had been charged recently with ....
