New construction in Henderson fell into winter funk in February
Chuck Stinnett
After a relatively robust burst of building activity in January, new construction in February settled back to seasonal norms, likely impacted by a stretch of snow and ice followed by a heavy rain at month’s end.
About eight inches of snow and ice fell in Henderson during February in a pair of events, which provided little incentive to undertake new construction projects in a month when building activity already is usually sluggish.
The city and county issued building permits with a total construction value of less than $1.2 million, with the majority of that coming from permits for four new single-family residences, including two Habitat for Humanity of Henderson homes in the 700 block of North Adams Street.
