Axe Wielding Burglary Suspect Jailed Following Investigation

Dec 18, 2020 5:01 PM Palm Coast, FL - A months-long investigation into an armed burglary eventually leads detectives to a 21-year-old suspect who was already in jail. The initial incident began on May 25th—although law enforcement did not learn of it until later—when a weapon complaint came from a home on Rolls Royce Court. An investigation carried out by the Flagler County Sheriff s Office (FCSO) revealed that three subjects went to the R section home where a verbal altercation took place. The next day, two of the three subjects returned to the home and reportedly entered the property without the permission of the residents. Once they were inside, one subject, who has since been identified as Robert Cameron Wilson, approached a resident with an axe and began to threaten them and others that were at the home. At some point, one of the residents retrieved a firearm and fired around two to three shots as Wilson and another subject were standing outside,

Man Arrested in Armed Road Rage Incident on Belle Terre Faces New Charge of Armed Burglary

Robert Wilson. Just past midnight on Dec. 9 a vehicle started tailgating another on Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast. The vehicle in front applied the brakes to stop the tailgating. The tailgating driver pulled up parallel to the other car and the two drivers exchanged middle fingers. Then Robert Cameron Wilson, a 21-year-old resident of 2 Fairfax Court in Palm Coast–he’d allegedly been the tailgater–“pulled out a black semiautomatic pistol and pointed it directly” at the driver of the other vehicle, who called 911 and sped off. A Flagler County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Wilson over at six minutes after midnight near Thai By Thai, the restaurant. Deputies recovered a Remington BB gun from the back pocket of the driver’s seat, charged Wilson with aggravated assault, and placed him under arrest. He was booked at the Flagler County jail.
