(WVIR) - After four years of work on theCenter of Developing Entrepreneurs (CODE) building in downtown Charlottesville, it’s finally a few months away from opening its doors. The developers of the 167,000 square foot structure say this building will have a number of community features including an amphitheater space for CODE building workers and the community. “Economic development hopefully brings energy and people as we start to open back up, just a fresh new attitude and optimism. So it’s a great place to work certainly, but also a fun place to work or come and visit,” Rob Archer, the CEO of Codebase Coworking, said.

In order to help uphold workplace culture as lockdown ends, employers are offering more flexibility, and improving wellbeing programmes according to new research by messaging service Slack. A company that focuses on wellbeing has also become more important to employees looking for new roles.  A quarter (25%) of UK workers said they are more attracted to companies that actively fight burnout by being proactive about the mental health and wellness of their people.

Volunteers step in to help the local community

VOLUNTEERS have stepped in to help the local community during the recent floods. On Friday evening Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT) were called in to help people after water was reported seeping from under a brick section of the flood defences near Wallsgate Lane off Commercial Street in Norton. A spokesperon for SRMT said : “The Local Resilience Forum and Environment Agency on site wanted to reinforce the wall with sandbags and deploy high volume pumps into the area to pump water back into the river. “The challenge with this was that the fields between the railway line and the river were already flooded.
