The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has conducted a drive to clear illegal structures along the River Turag in Birulia, Savar. The operation started from 10:00am on Wednesday. According to the BIWTA, the operation is part of the ongoing eviction drive of illegal structures along the riverbank.
The second phase of the three-day Biswa Ijtema, billed as the second largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj, began on the banks of the River Turag in Tongi today.
