MIDDLETOWN – A fire burned portions of a home and several cars in the Lincroft section of Middletown early Sunday morning, according to the Middletown Township Fire Department.
The fire, which was reported around 2:38 a.m. on Radcliffe Drive, ignited in the attached garage and quickly spread to rooms on the house s second floor and portions of the attic, according to firefighters. Several cars in the driveway also were damaged, according to the fire department.
The home s occupants escaped without injuries, firefighters said.
More than 50 firefighters from Lincroft Ladder 200, the Middletown Fire Company, Belford Engine, Community Fire Company in Leonardo, River Plaza Hose Fire Company in Red Bank and the local rapid intervention team responded to the scene, according to the fire department. No firefighters were injured.
