Works Set To Improve Access to Port Fairy’s Griffiths Island
The first stage of a project to improve access to Port Fairy s Griffiths Island is scheduled to begin this month.
Moyne Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Meade said that the improvements will ensure a safe and accessible passage to the popular Griffiths Island Lighthouse.
“This project will not only improve safety and emergency vehicle access to the island but will also complement the natural attractions on the island and enhance visitors’ experience, encouraging an increase in tourism visitation and regional economic benefits.”

The $200,000 project includes the replacement of deteriorated infrastructure under the causeway and the construction of a new concrete path, and is jointly funded by the Council in conjunction with the Victorian Government. ....
