North Dakota State (3-1, 2-1 MVFC) accounted for one-third of its offensive output on two big first-half plays and relied on its defense to take it from there in a 25-0 Bison win over Missouri State here Saturday in the Missouri Valley Football Conference home opener for the Bears.
Missouri State registered 14 first downs on the afternoon and drove into Bison territory four times. However, the 18 points in the second quarter by the visitors proved too much to overcome, dropping the Bears to 1-1 in conference play.
North Dakota State got on the board first, capitalizing on a Bears turnover and parlaying that into seven points 12 plays later to take a 7-0 lead. The Bison used a fake punt to extend the drive and finished it with a seven-yard touchdown strike from Zeb Noland to Noah Gindorff with 1:49 left in the opening quarter.

Missouri State pounded out 15 hits and scored in six straight innings while riding the arm of starter Logan Wiley to a 12-2 victory over visiting Central Arkansas here Sunday in the rubber game of the three-game series at Hammons Field.
Wiley was impressive for the Bears (4-1), going 6.0 innings and allowing just three hits and striking out four to pick up the win.
UCA (1-2) plated the game’s first two runs in the top of the third, capitalizing on a leadoff double from No. 9 hitter Christian Brasher to ignite an early spark for the visitors.
Loyola Dominates Missouri State in First of Two Games

Visiting Loyola Chicago jumped out to a 22-2 lead less than nine minutes into Sunday afternoon’s game at JQH Arena, and Missouri State was unable to get a foothold from there in a 72-46 Ramblers win in the first of two games between the clubs on consecutive days.
Loyola (14-3, 9-1 MVC) got 18 points from Cameron Krutwig who was 8-for-18 from the field with 5 assists. Keith Clemons added 12 for the visitors who shot 52.8 percent from the field.
Missouri State (9-4, 5-4 MVC) was led by Keaton Hervey’s 9 points. The Bears also got 8 points and 10 rebounds from Isiaih Mosley who came within an eyelash of his third straight double-double.
Bears Take Game One at Valpo; Four Bears in Double Figures

Isiaih Mosley matched a career high with 29 points, and Gaige Prim scored 17 points with a career-high 16 rebounds to help Missouri State (7-1, 4-1 MVC) turn back Valparaiso, 81-68, Saturday in the first of two Missouri Valley Conference games between the squads here this weekend.
Mosley led four Bears in double figures and finished 11-of-18 from the field with 8 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists. He became the first Bear since Winston Garland (Feb. 4-21, 1987) to record six straight 20-point scoring games.
Valpo (3-6, 0-1 MVC) got 21 points apiece from Donovan Clay and Ben Krikke. Krikke finished 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from long range for his career high.
