Fans meet and greet Olympic gold medal winner swimmer Hunter Armstrong
DOVER Fans of Hunter Armstrong thronged Pam s Posies on the Boulevard late Wednesday afternoon to greet the 20-year-old Dover native who won a gold medal by swimming at the Olympics in Tokyo.
These were the people who watched on television as the U.S. team won the gold in the 4X100 medley, and watched as Armstrong swam in relay team preliminaries on July 30 that helped the team qualify for the final.
These were the people who followed his progress after he finished as runner-up in the Men s 100 Meter Backstroke, punching his ticket to the Summer Olympics after his performance at the U.S Olympic Swimming Trials held at Omaha, Neb., on June 15.
