A pedestrian was fatally struck in the area of Giant Highway and Griffin Drive in Richmond’s Parchester Village neighborhood early Tuesday, police said.
Officers responded to the intersection just after 4 a.m. and found the pedestrian in critical condition, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save her life, she died at the scene, Walle said.
“The motorist was transported to the police department for an interview with traffic investigators and the accident remains under investigation,” Walle said.
The pedestrian’s identity is not being released until her family is notified, the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office said. ....
