The event is cohosted by the library of virginia, university of Virginia Center for Civil War History, and the American Civil War museum. In the first session, james robertson, Virginia Tech history professor emeritus, and the author or editor of more than 20 books will give a talk titled civil war echoes from the common folk. Reporter in a 61 vote tuesday night, Richmond City council gave the thumbs up to boost minimum wage to 12. 30 an hour. The ordinance is still one vote away from becoming a done deal. In a city where 18 of the population lives below the poverty line, residents call this much needed if not overdo. Hardly any opportunity around here. So opportunity, everything will balance out.
