Bucks Council ‘sorry’ for sending wrong ballot papers to hundreds ahead of elections
THE council has apologised for sending the wrong ballot papers to more than 350 Bucks residents ahead of the local elections – adding it would ensure anyone “who returns the wrong pack” will not lose their vote. 
Bucks Council said it is ‘sorry’ for sending out incorrect parish ballot papers to 356 people in Iver and Richings Park ahead of the elections on Thursday, May 6.
The authority put the blunder down to a “printer error”.

It said it had cancelled the incorrect postal vote packs it first sent out and issued replacement ones. ....

Mothballed Heathrow rail link will not be revived until airport's finances pick up


Network Rail staff working on the Western Rail Link to Heathrow have been moved on to other projects with no sign of the mothballed scheme restarting any time soon.

Network Rail has now confirmed that staff working on the scheme have been moved on to other projects, until Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL) is able to commit to its share of the project’s funding.
HAL is currently unable to commit any funding to the project due to its precarious financial position as a result of passenger decline due to Covid-19.
In February HAL announced a £2bn loss for the financial year, with passenger numbers down 22M in 2020 compared to the year before. ....

24 areas where Covid cases are on the rise in Berkshire


A total of 24 neighbourhoods in the Berkshire have seen cases up, compared to the week before.
Most recent Public Health England data shows the picture in the seven days to April 15, compared to the seven days to April 8.
It comes as promising data shows that overall, five out of six council areas in our region have continued to see a fall in the number of new infections.
All council areas apart from West Berkshire saw a rise in the number of new Covid cases over the same time period.
Analysis of this data has found that the majority of areas which have seen a rise in cases have only seen slight increases - between one and three new cases. ....

HGV that 'wiped out' bollards on Bathurst Walk in Iver may have been 'lost'


DAMAGES done to some bollards and a tree by a lorry have prompted one group of residents to call on the highways authority for repairs – adding that they feel HGVs are a “major issue” in the area.
Richings Park Residents’ Association urged Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) to fix three posts and a tree “wiped out” on Bathurst Walk in Iver last week – adding they believe the driver may have come from outside the area.

The group said there are now in total six damaged bollards that they are aware of, adding lorry drivers not local to Bucks are ‘getting lost’ in Richings Park. ....
