REDDING, Calif. – The Good News Rescue Mission was hit with several cases of coronavirus.
The Rescue Mission says several of its staff, volunteers, and people in their program caught Covid-19. With several cases, the shelter is facing of a shortage of volunteers for some of its services, like its kitchen.
For Francesca Hill and Richard Matteson, who are homeless, they spend their nights at the Rescue Mission. The news of staff and volunteers out because of coronavirus leaves them feeling uncertain.

ALPENA The Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District Board of Education on Thursday selected a new board member from among two candidates interviewed via videoconferencing software Zoom.
The board appointed Nick Brege, Alpena Community College’s director of facilities, to fill the vacant seat. United Way Director and ACC Trustee Joe Gentry also applied for the position.
The seat became vacant last month when Richard Matteson resigned after serving on the board for the last 12 years.
