PHILADELPHIA – A federal judge has granted a stay in litigation brought by an Alabama-based Uber driver, who alleged that the Insomnia Cookies company has stiffed him and numerous other employees of large sums of money in tips, when it sub-contracts its product delivery services to drivers on the ride share app.
HARRISBURG – For jurisdictional reasons, judges from the Superior Court of Pennsylvania have thrown out appeals from one partner of the former Philadelphia law firm Golomb & Honik relating to escrow account contributions, ruling it did not have cause to compel the firm’s other former partner to make those contributions, as the firm continues to dissolve.
A Philadelphia judge urged a state appellate court to uphold his rulings on the breakup of the law firm Golomb & Honik PC, writing that the former partners were abusing the appellate process to force payment of fees from cases that were filed before the split.
