Welsh Borders farmer develops app to keep track of livestock

A FREE mobile app developed on the Welsh Borders launched two months ago already has over 2,000 farmers using it in the UK as far away as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, USA and India.
The app, called Livestock Count was developed by gloversure, a leading mobile app and web design/development company based in Welshpool and Chester.
The MD and founder Richard Glover-Davies is a farmer s son and the idea for the app was born when his dad was bringing more ewes and lambs to Richard s smallholding every other day during lambing season.
Richard was having to phone his dad to find out how many were meant to be in each field when he was checking they were OK. ....

A new app has been launched for farmers to store and share data on how many animals they have in each field.
Livestock Count enables farmers to enter the number of each type of livestock in each of their fields and make notes about them. Any updates are immediately available to farmworkers or family members also using the app.
The idea for Livestock Count came about when farmer’s son Richard Glover-Davies was helping his dad during lambing time. More ewes and lambs were being brought to Mr Glover-Davies’ smallholding every other day, and he kept having to call his dad to find out how many were meant to be in each field. ....
