According to CPS, the Chesapeake Health Department informed the school system that 1,000 vaccines originally scheduled for administration earlier in the month are now available, and the school system must administer them by Thursday. Administering that many vaccinations in one day will require all our health services staff and administrative support, said Richard Babb with CPS in an email. Therefore, we are adjusting our school calendar to add tomorrow, Thursday, February 25 as an Asynchronous Student Support Day. ....

The decision comes after the School Health Advisory Board and Superintendent Jared Cotton asked school administrators and athletic directors to reevaluate the district s plans for winter sports. Teams will not have the opportunity to review mitigation strategies and reassess their plans, according to spokesperson Richard Babb. We are all looking forward to the start of winter sports.
