Albania’s government sent troops and police a day earlier to clear striking controllers out of the flight control tower and their offices. Twenty-four controllers were questioned by police overnight, according to lawyer Rezart Kthupi. ....

Belinda Balluku said humanitarian, emergency, health, diplomatic, state and military flights have resumed, while commercial ones will start Friday morning. It was unclear whether strikers have resumed work. The infrastructure ministry did not comment on local media reports that air traffic controllers had been brought in from Turkey. All flights from and to TIA, the only international airport in Albania, have been suspended since Wednesday when about 68 air traffic controllers from Albcontrol company went on strike over working conditions and pay cuts. About 13 flights confirmed by TIA were suspended on Wednesday due to the strike and it is not clear when flights might resume. ....
