Dallas-Fort Worth residential development sites continue to push northward.
A 900-acre tract in Grayson County just changed hands for a future project that would add thousands of homes.
A partnership led by Sanjay Singhania and Tanmai Development acquired the property called Platinum Ranch southwest of the town of Gunter.
The property, which is west of Preston Road, has a mile of frontage on the route of the Dallas North Tollway, which is currently being extended north of U.S. Highway 380.

A big land trade in Celina has set the stage for a new community with more than 2,000 homes.
Real estate development partners Rockhill Capital & Investments and Horizon Capital Partners have bought almost 700 acres between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway route just north of FM 455.
Called the Villages of Uptown, the big home community will have sites for 2,500 single-family homes plus parks and green space. A hike-and bike-trail is planned along the south side of the development giving access to Celina’s downtown district.

Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones is growing his real estate empire with a major project south of Dallas.
The Jones family’s Blue Star Land has quietly purchased more than 120 acres on the southwest corner of Interstate 35E and U.S. Highway 287 in Waxahachie. Blue Star and Dallas developer Lincoln Property the same team that built the Dallas Cowboys’ $1.5 billion Star in Frisco project are planning to build on the high-traffic Ellis County corner.
Frisco-based real estate broker Rex Glendenning, who handled the Blue Star property buys, said the land was purchased for “a mixed-use project consisting of urban residential, industrial and e-commerce, as well as some retail and commercial.

One of North Texas’ major developers has purchased a huge ranch southeast of Dallas for a residential community with as many as 4,000 homes.
Centurion American Development Group – which has dozens of commercial and residential projects across the state – bought the Cartwright Ranch on U.S. Highway 175 in Kaufman County. It’s one of the largest residential land transactions in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2020.
