CLAY COUNTY, Fla. A Change.org petition created by the yearbook editor at Fleming Island High School says Clay County district officials have blocked the publication of a yearbook section highlighting LGBTQ+ pride and culture.
Editor Hanna Coulter claims district officials told Principal Thomas Pittman, Vice Principal Rex Knight that she could not to devote half of the yearbook s cultural spread to a pride section representing LGBTQ+ students. As a result, she says, school officials told her the entire cultural section will not be printed.
