well, unfortunately, dana, it is how they want to deal with it and they keep telling us that. they keep telling us they want to defund the police. keep telling us they are a revolutionary marxist group that continues to tell us openly they want to over throw the system. maybe we should take them seriously. as far as the broken system is concerned i m not one to say the states should do what the federal government does and the federal government is the perfect model for everything but in the federal system a violent crime like this would presumptively call for detention prior to trial. so it would almost take the decision out of the judge s hands because you would have to prove by convincing evidence that the person wasn t a danger to the community and this guy looks like by definition he is a danger to the community. there doesn t seem to be much doubt that about what he did. his lawyer is out there saying he has mental problems and that s what caused it. ....
