FMCSA on Thursday revoked five ELDs from the self-certification list. Also: A one-truck owner-operator seeks an exemption from the ELD mandate due to the cost of compliance; another tech firm petitions to allow mirror-alternative camera.
After possibly "cracking down" and removing 10 ELDs from FMCSA s approved list of devices, the agency has let another previously revoked device back on the list that makes two in as many weeks.
The ELD was one of 10 devices removed from FMCSA s list on Dec. 1. Also: DAT launches new fuel card program through OTR Solutions; Kenworth of Fremont, Indiana, relocates with expanded sales, parts and repair services.
Drivers who use the revoked ELDs must stop using the devices and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours-of-service data and replace the revoked ELDs with a compliant device before Jan. 30, 2024.
The agency on Thursday removed both Falcon ELD and KSK ELD from its list of Registered Devices. Operators using either device have until Nov. 13 to replace it with a compliant ELD, FMCSA said.
