What was happening at the beginning of the show, i was trying to deal with my allergy eyes, and that kleenex that quickly disappeared from your screen. Tonight we have a strange twist in the texas democrats go to washington story. One of the people that texas democrats went to washington to speak to, has now gone to texas. One of the most important meetings that the texas democrats have had, if not the most important meeting, was with democratic senator joe manchin, yesterday. It means, and who gets to lay claim to it. Because, as nancy pelosi s select committee takes shape to investigate the january 6th insurrection, with only one republican of conscience and a black congressman from mississippi in the lead who will join me shortly, by the way i m disturbed. Less by the thuggery of the insurrection, and more by the cowardice of the republican lawmakers who refuse to prosecute it as we would with any other attack on our soil. Of course, there isn t much incentive, as the top republican in the house is reported to have threatened his caucus with career sabotage if they should choose to participate. But at a symbolic level, it sends a distinct message to black america this july 4th, as nearly half of our federal legislators now overlook a mob suffuse with racists by rate issing our people s house. Of course, there isn t much incentive as the top republican in the house is reported to have threatened his caucus with career sabotage if they should choose to participate but at a symbolic level, it sends a distinct message to black america this july 4th as nearly half of our federal legislators now overlook a mob with racists violating our people s house. And more than 100 of them voted last week to keep memorials to dead confederates in that house for generations to come. It s a message we have seen contended with since 1776, the idea that white separatists as still just as patriotic, if not more, than black soldiers and public servants. All that shortly, with the best guest possible. And we re keeping an eye on the white house south lawn, where the president will hold a july 4th event in just a couple of hours celebrating essential workers and what he calls independence from covid. Meanwhile, the former commander in chief is just desperate to make fireworks. Ladies and gentlemen,

Republicans at every level, federal, state, everywhere, are putting in place step by ugly step all of the tools that they need to steal the next election and the one after that and the one after that. You get the picture? across the country 14 republicanled states have enacted 22 laws that restrict access to voting. And they re just getting started. And if that s not repugnant enough, some of these republican laws have stripped secretaries of state of their power, clearing the way for partisan control of state election boards and made it easier to overturn election results. Take, for example, the partisan unconstitutional and undemocratic 2020 election inspection happening in arizona, which republicans across the country are keen on replicating. In penn
