Pressure from the white house, is that something you hope to hear from president biden on tuesday when he gives this big speech on voting rights? absolutely. the education department is urging the white house to extend the freeze on student loan payments until january. you and several of your colleagues recently sent the president a letter asking him to do just this. why do you believe this is so important? well, nearly $2 trillion crisis. so, it s not just what i believe. i m advocating being responsive to the urgent demands and needs from my constituents and those throughout this country. we re talking about those who have been victims of the predatory marketing and deceptive business practices of for-profit colleges, we re talking about veterans, we re talking about mill len yan and gen-z, who are withholding making decisions for home ownership, to start a family, we re talking about 76-year-olds in my district who are still paying on student loan debt.
