Date Time $240,000 supports new look for Swansea foreshore Key pieces of rehabilitation work boosted by $240,000 in NSW Government grants have started improving waterways and ecosystems along the Swansea foreshore. Minister for Local Government Shelley Hancock inspected the foreshore and wetland rehabilitation site at Swansea today, after $240,000 was awarded to Lake Macquarie City Council to carry out the work as part of the NSW Government’s Coastal and Estuary Grants Program. “I’m pleased with the works completed so far at Swansea foreshore and to see, first-hand, the 80-metre long protective rock wall, revegetation and saltmarsh rehabilitation,” Mrs Hancock said. “Through the Coastal and Estuary Program, the NSW Government is funding half of this exciting Lake Macquarie City Council project. ....
Date Time Council welcomes new NRM delivery partners Rockhampton Regional Council is pleased to welcome CQUniversity and Central Queensland Aboriginal Corporation for Cultural Activities (CQACCA) as key delivery partners for Councils’ Natural Resource Management (NRM) program. Water and Environmental Sustainability Councillor Donna Kirkland says the addition of two new partners to the NRM program is a welcome one. “With over 100 parks across the region, and an abundance of green corridors and reserves, the NRM program plays an important role in protecting our natural environment,” Cr Kirkland said. “We rely on our community partners to help manage and improve the condition of some of our key natural assets. ....

Landcare, in partnership with the National Landcare Network, will engage local Landcare groups, community organisations, local landholders, Indigenous groups and Traditional Owners to deliver the recovery projects. Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said Landcare is perfectly placed to oversee the roll-out of the $14 million in regional funding. ....
