CHAGAI: The area residents and local employees of the Saindak Copper-cum-Gold Project ended their protest after Chinese firm MCC Resource Development Limited (MRDL) issued a notification regarding further arrangements for the leave policy.
According to the notification, a copy of which is available with Dawn, all the departments and units were required to formulate the 2021 Leave Plan for employees in a reasonable way based on general situations of the staff on site and on leave while combining the actual work achievements to organise their leaves in a timely and orderly manner.

CHAGAI: Employees of Saindak project and area residents continued their protest against the alleged strict restrictions imposed by Chinese firm the MCC Resource Development Limited (MRDL) for the third consecutive day on Saturday.
The workers, after performing their duties, have been observing protest inside the Saindak Copper-cum-Gold Project, while the residents are staging a sit-in outside.
Former provincial minister Sakhi Amanullah Notezai and local politician Arz Mohammad Barech, along with their supporters, reached Saindak and expressed solidarity with the protesters, but they were not allowed by the Frontier Corps to enter the project’s premises and meet the protesting workers.

CHAGAI: Workers of Saindak Copper-cum-Gold Project and local residents on Thursday staged separate protest sit-ins against alleged injustices by the Chinese management at and outside the project site.
According to sources, the workers and local residents chanted slogans against Chinese company MCC Resource Development Limited (MRDL) management alleging that workers were being kept in prolonged quarantine, besides strict restrictions for coronavirus prevention had made lives of local residents miserable.
