我科学家在小型化自由电子激光研究中取得突破性进展


自由电子激光是实现X射线波段高亮度相干光源的迄今最佳技术途径,X射线自由电子激光可用于探测物质内部动态结构和研究光与原子、分子和凝聚态物质的相互作用过程,极大促进物理、化学、结构生物学、医学、材料、能源、环境等多学科发展。研制小型化、低成本的X射线自由电子激光,成为其重要的发展方向,对于拓展应用和产生变革型技术都极其重要。
记者了解到,该研究团队通过显著提升激光尾波场加速的电子束品质,并结合创新设计的紧凑型束流传输与辐射系统,实验上首次实现了基于激光加速器的自由电子激光放大输出,典型激光波长27纳米,最短激光波长可达10纳米级,单脉冲能量可达100纳焦级,在国际上率先完成台式化自由电子激光原理的实验验证,这对于发展小型化、低成本自由电子激光器具有重大意义。
