Local EMS and fire responders to be vaccinated Monday

(Willmar MN-) Kandiyohi County Public Health Thursday has received a limited supply of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. A drive-through Vaccination Clinic for designated EMS and First Responders in our county is planned for Monday, December 28, 2020 from 3pm-6pm at the Rescue Squad Building in Willmar. These specific individuals have been notified they are eligible to receive the vaccine. Again, this vaccination clinic is not open to the general public at this time. At a press conference call last Wednesday, the Minnesota Health Department said that, state-wide, an estimated 3,000 health care workers were vaccinated over the past week. The state is expecting this week to receive 94,800 doses of the Moderna vaccine. These doses will be delivered directly to providers to vaccinate long-term care residents and workers and also to local public health agencies, according to Kris Ehresmann, state director of infectious disease. The Moderna vaccine does not have the same requirement for ultracold
