IF  there is one thing that has not only exposed this administration’s double-dealing in handling sensitive  national issues but mocks its much vaunted anti-terror fight, it is the public support for the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy,Dr Isa Pantami, in spite of hair-raising revelations about his dark past that cast him as a terrorist sympathiser and Jihadist.
Pantami landed in hot water after a publication by a national newspaper accused him of being on the United States terror watchlist. Also, in the said publication were Pantami’s unsavoury comments that glorified and endorsed terrorism. But Pantami would not let it lie without a fight. He wanted a battle in the courts to save his name, but you can only defame a man that has a name to protect. Truth be told,the minister had already defamed himself the moment he expressed public support for murdero ....

Lawan had assured that as Nigeria begins a new year, 2021, the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill 2020(SB) 510 will be passed by end of the first quarter of the year.
Speaking on Thursday shortly after a closed-door session with the Security Chiefs, President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan said that before that date, “we expect that our committees will still be working particularly the Joint Committee working on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). ....

Members of the House of Representatives are in talks with United States officials to nail and get out embattled Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Rep. Sergius Ogun, a lawmaker disclosed at the weekend.
Mr. Ogun, made the disclosure in an interview with selected media houses, including VANGUARD at the National Assembly.
The legislator, was responding to a question on the seeming division in the House on the matter.
His words: “From where I stand I believe the minister should resign, he will go, I don’t think he will stay beyond the end of this year. Now we are approaching America for help, will America tolerate such things, they will give you terms if they are going to come here. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, and 24 concerned Nigerians have sued the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja over “arbitrary” use of the NBC Act and broadcasting code.
In the suit number ECW/CCJ/APP/19/21 and filed last week by SERAP Depuy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare and  Opeyemi Owolabi, contended that the code was enacted to target, harass, sanction, and fine independent television and radio stations in Nigeria, and to restrict Nigerians’ freedom of expression and access to information.” ....
