There was not a mask in sight. Everyone seemed into it. 
The Reno River Festival in Wingfield Park last weekend felt like a test drive of a new, old normal: A pre-pandemic outdoor gala replete with funnel cakes, hand-dipped corndogs and Korean barbecue all stuffed into unmasked mouths. 
For event organizers and dozens of local vendors, for whom festivals and other large gatherings are an essential part of business, the 2021 River Festival ushered in feelings of cautious optimism about the future.
