Four finalists chosen for Fort River elementary school principal in Amherst

The finalists are Sadie Cora, Laura Tiktin-Sharick, Siby Adina and Lori Robinson.
Cora is a third grade teacher in Northampton at Jackson Street elementary school.
Adina is the elementary school Curriculum Coordinator at Abby Kelley Foster Charter School in Worcester.
Tiktin-Sharick is an assistant principal at the P.S. 24 elementary school in New York City, in Brooklyn.
Robinson is an assistant principal in Springfield at Forest Park Middle School.
Amherst superintendent Michael Morris has said the plan is to have a new principal in place by July 1.

Published: 4/22/2021 2:26:35 PM I was overjoyed to see a letter from Fort River Principals Diane Chamberlain and Renee Greenfield inviting parents/guardians to opt in or out of the MCAS the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System.
Many of you already know that the MCAS is a series of high stakes, standardized tests given to public school students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, and those in grade 10. In grade 10, the MCAS is currently a requirement to graduate high school.
