DSWD sits as a member of the JMIT, whose creation was stipulated in Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 series of 2021 on the implementation of the financial aid in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus.
Under the JMC No. 1, the DSWD, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of National Defense (DND) are tasked to provide technical assistance to the LGUs “on their respective areas of concern.”
In an interview with the DZBB, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao stressed that that based on the JMC and Local Budget Circular NO. 136, issued by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), an eligible individual is entitled to P1,000, provided that the assistance given to a family should not exceed the cap of P4,000. ....

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Friday, April 16, the local government units (LGUs) have been given “full discretion” to identify their low-income constituents who will receive the government’s one-time financial assistance in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus.

In separate radio interviews, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said based on the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 series of 2021, signed by the DSWD, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of National Defense (DND), the LGUs have the discretion to identify the recipients of the P22.9 billion-aid. ....

P1.1-B 'ayuda' distributed to over 1 million beneficiaries in NCR+ – DSWD – Manila Bulletin

Over 1 million low-income people affected by the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus have received their one-time financial assistance amounting to more than P1 billion, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Monday evening, April 12.
Citing the report from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) dated April 10, the DSWD said more than P1.1-billion supplemental aid for ECQ areas has been distributed during the April 7 to 9 payouts.
“Based on the April 10 report from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), covering the payouts from April 7 to 9, more than P1.1 billion has already been distributed to over 1 million beneficiaries from the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal,” it said in a statement. ....

MANILA, Mar. 2 The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), together with other member-agencies of the Task Group Face Mask (TG FM), continues to distribute free reusable face masks for the poor constituents of various local government units (LGUs).
A total of 1,125,000 pieces of cloth face masks were turned over to Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso Moreno on February 23. Other LGUs in NCR and in the regions are also scheduled to receive free reusable cloth face masks for distribution to poor families in their respective areas. ....
