Louisville, Ky. – Behind goals from Brandon Parrish and Ousmane Sylla, Clemson men’s soccer won its fourth NCAA Championship in school history on Monday night, downing ACC-foe Notre Dame, 2-1. Clemson’s four team-championships are the most by any program at Clemson. Notre Dame was the first to get a good look in the game in the 8’, but Joseph Andema made a diving stop to keep the Fighting Irish off the board. The Tigers had back-to-back corner kick opportunities in the 13’, but could not find the back of the net. Clemson had another corner opportunity in the 15’, but again couldn’t get a good look on goal. Following the Tigers’ fifth corner of the first half, Brandon Parrish broke the 0-0 tie with a rocket to the top right corner. The corner was cleared by a Notre Dame defender, who sent it right to Parrish, who fired from outside the top of the box for his fourth goal of the season. CLEMSON, S.C. – Behind goals from three different Tigers and the team’s sixth shutout of the season, Clemson men’s soccer downed Charlotte, 3-0, to move on to the NCAA Round of 16 for the fourth time in five seasons. The Tigers shined in front of 2,897 fans and moved to 10-1-2 at Historic Riggs Field this season. With the win, Head Coach Mike Noonan now has 388 career victories, tying Clemson Hall of Fame coach I.M. Ibrahim on the NCAA’s career wins list. “Very proud of this team and we played well tonight,” Said Noonan. “Riggs is a charmed place for this team and we hope we get to play here again. Clemson, S.C. – Ousmane Sylla recorded his fourth-career brace and Arthur Duquenne recorded a career-high three assists as Clemson United overpowered Louisville, 5-1, on Wednesday evening in front of 3,785 fans in the second of two ACC quarterfinal matchups. With the win, the Tigers advance to the ACC Championship for the 11th time in school history and sixth time under head coach Mike Noonan.The Tigers recorded 28 shots to Louisville’s three, including 18 on goal. Sylla led the Tigers with two goals on the night, while Gael Gibert and Isaiah Easley each had one. Remi Okunlola netted a goal and recorded an assist and Arthur Duquenne assisted on three of Clemson’s five goals. Louisville’s keeper, Alex Svetanoff, recorded 11 saves on the night.Okunlola opened the scoring for the Tigers with his second goal of the season.
