âââ OLEBOGENG MOTSE 07:43 Thu, 03 Jun 2021 Three former Free State Agriculture department heads - one of whom is still a government official - as well as a businessman linked to the Gupta brothers are appearing in the Bloemfontein Magistrate s Court on Thursday. According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the arrests were made in the Free State, Gauteng and Mpumalanga on Wednesday morning. Spokesperson for the NPA s investigating directorate, Sindisiwe Seboka, says the multi-million rand case relates to the controversial Estina company and charges include fraud, corruption and money laundering. Details are very sketchy presently, however, a fifth arrest in the case is imminent. ....

During the investigations of the Estina case, it was discovered that there were also irregularities in the financial flow analysis of a certain account. According to a police statement, large amounts of money have allegedly been deposited into a bank account belonging to the former Chief Financial Officer for the Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. ....
